Unique robot commissioned by HMSSB Department S in 1907.
Walter Wilson (1874-1957 oversaw the development of the all-terrain vehicle base upon Franz Releaux's Maschinenmench design and Ada Lovelace's Cognition Hub.
Fabricated in RX structurite, the Wilson Machine actually has the capability to increase its mass. Adding the revolutionary Williams-Janney hydraulic limb system and the epicyclical gearbox, Wilson developed the robot into a much larger and more robust machine than Releaux's original.
Officially the H.M.L.S (His Majesty's Land Ship) Wilson, but usually referred to as the Wilson Machine or Big Willie.
First saw active service for Dept S during the first Martian (later established as Qu'laar) incursion onto Wapping Common and the follow up campaign on Mars. Taken by Major Bastable for the geographic survey of Paramazonia in 1911.
