I wanted to create a set of ground rules, or guide lines for our SG, seeing as a couple things need addressing. 1. All new recruits must undergo a 10 day trial period before receiving officer privilege. 2. Be kind to your fellow SG members. We all help one another when we can, so let's keep a positive mood 3. When taking items from the vault, this is perfectly fine in case of need, but remember to give back to the vault as well. All the items you take came from someone or somewhere, so it's good to keep that supply in tact. 4. Remember to have fun. It's just a game. Games are meant to be enjoyed. So lets make the most of it . I hope everyone agrees with this so far, as this will be discussion oriented. Please post what you believe this CoC should contain, and if you think the current points noted, are well and good. (The first point is unchangeable. I won't continue to repeat it, but due to past events, this is necessarily.) Please let me know what you think. -Spartus.

I like it.
The only difficulty I foresee is figuring out if a silly newbie has been in the SG for ten days. The SG stats don't track when someone joins, just the last time they logged in (unless I'm missing something). Either the inviter keeps track of how long their invitee has been a newbie or we rely upon everyone's best judgment as to if a particular newbie is trustworthy enough to grant access to the bank.
The biggest problem is, no matter what steps we take, if someone wants the bank contents there's really not much we can do to prevent it (beyond the obvious of locking the bank down from everyone which I don't want to do). A ten day probation will help but a patient thief can simply wait. It might be better to educate existing members in exercising constraint when inviting to the guild and especially when promoting within the guild. Unfortunately there is no perfect answer, and we'd best be prepared to have the bank cleaned out again as long as we're actively recruiting.
It becomes a question of which is more important, keeping the bank filled with goodies or building an active member roster. In my humble opinion the bank contents can be replaced, getting active members is more important than letting our concern about theft prevent us from recruiting at all. Not to mention the problem of filling the bank with goodies becomes more moot the more our active roster grows and people contribute.
What do you think?

Is there a way to add officer privilege without vault access?
also, make it a requirement to sign up on the forum. on here we can keep track of how long they've been in the SG. Plus we could get the forum more active that way.
Thoughts?
also what if we DON'T tell them, that they're on a trial period? then the potential thief cannot be born.

as mentioned in sg chat, i stripped all powers from the silly newbie rank. all that rank can do is invite others to sg. The 10 day restriction was put in place so that we can build trust with that new member, which i feel is long enough to kinda see if you're in it for the goods, or you're in it to actually play with our awesome group.
On another note, my main focus is to play together as much as we can, lvl together. it's more fun that way! ^-^
As always let me know if any other concerns arise. I'm very open to any suggestions!

i understand there's a new account wide chat channel (LoFG) for members (Ros.Dulce set it up when I joined) - useful for players who haven't got all their characters in the SG to see SG chat
